Clinophosinaite

Clinophosinaite is an IMA-recognized mineral species in the silicate class, with the chemical formula Na₃Ca(SiO₃)(PO₄).

It crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system (space group P2/c).

Key properties: Mohs hardness 4; specific gravity 2.85–2.88; Vitreous luster; optically biaxial.

IMA symbol Cpsi, IMA status: approved, named in 1979.

Apparently as an alteration product of eudialyte in alkalic pegmatites in a differentiated alkalic massif.

It is found associated with Zirsinalite, eudialyte.

The name refers to its monoclinic crystallography and chemical similarity to phosinaite.
