It crystallizes in the orthorhombic crystal system (space group Pnma). It is a member of the Vergasovaite structural group.

Key properties: Mohs hardness 3; specific gravity 4.512; Yellow to light brown streak; Adamantine. Anisotropism: Distinct luster.

IMA symbol Cmyb, IMA status: approved, named in 2011.

A fumarolic mineral developed during post-volcanic degassing.

It is found associated with Piypite, fedotovite, vergasovite, hematite, magnetite, aphthitalite, langbeinite, palmierite, As-bearing orthoclase, lammerite, klyuchevskite.

The name refers to its chemical composition. The name also reflects the stoichiometric relationship with cuprotungstite, Cu3(OH)2(WO4)2.
