Ferrostalderite
Ferrostalderite is an IMA-recognized mineral species in the sulfosalt class, with the chemical formula CuFe₂TlAs₂S₆.
It crystallizes in the tetragonal crystal system (space group I-42m). It is a member of the Routhierite structural group.
Key properties: specific gravity 4.528; Black streak; Metallic luster.
IMA symbol Fstd, IMA status: approved, named in 2014.
Formed as massive to interstitial sulfosalt accumulations in dolostone by late stage Tl-As-Cu-Fe-rich hydrothermal fluids during upper greenschist to lower amphibolite metamorphism.
It is found associated with Dolomite, realgar, baumhauerite(?), pyrite.
The prefix, ferro, indicates the iron isotype of stalderite.
