Galuskinite is an IMA-recognized mineral species in the silicate class, with the chemical formula Ca₇(SiO₄)₃(CO₃).

It crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system (space group P2_1/c).

Key properties: Mohs hardness 5; specific gravity 3.096; White streak; Vitreous luster; optically biaxial.

IMA symbol Gkn, IMA status: approved, named in 2010.

A retrograde product of skarn alteration found in sanidinite facies contact- metamorphosed silicate carbonate xenoliths intruded by gabbroid rocks (Birkhin complex).

It is found associated with Pavlovskyite, dellaite, larnite, bredigite, gehlenite, cuspidine, hydroxylellestadite.

The mineral was named to honor Russian mineralogists Irina Olegovna Galuskina (b. 1961) and Evgeny Vadimovich Galuskin (b. 1960), Faculty of Earth Sciences, University of Silesia, Poland.
