Nataliakulikite

Nataliakulikite is an IMA-recognized mineral species in the silicate class, with the chemical formula Ca₄Ti₂(Fe³⁺,Fe²⁺)(Si,Fe³⁺,Al)O₁₁.

It crystallizes in the orthorhombic crystal system (space group Pnma). It is a member of the Perovskite structural group.

Key properties: Mohs hardness 5.5–6; specific gravity 4.006; Light brown streak; Submetallic luster.

IMA symbol Nkk, IMA status: approved, named in 2018.

Found in high-temperature, pyrometamorphic, larnite-gehlenite rock (HT-region of the spurrite-merwinite facies).

It is found associated with Larnite, flamite, gehlenite, magnesioferrite, Fe3+-rich perovskite, fluorapatite, baryte, hashemite, retrograde phases (afwillite, hillebrandite, portlandite.

The mineral was named to honor Russian mineralogist Natalia Artyemovna Kulik (b. 1933), Emeritus Professor of Mineralogy, Novosibirsk State University.
