Natisite

Natisite is an IMA-recognized mineral species in the silicate class, with the chemical formula Na₂TiO(SiO₄).

It crystallizes in the tetragonal crystal system (space group P4/nmm).

Key properties: Mohs hardness 3–4; specific gravity 3.15; Vitreous to adamantine luster; optically uniaxial.

IMA symbol Nts, IMA status: approved, named in 1974.

Found in natrolite-ussingite veins cutting alkalic rocks in a differentiated alkalic massif.

It is found associated with Chkalovite, aegirine, vuonnemite.

The name refers to sodium, NAtrium, TItanium, and SIlicon in the composition.
