Paratsepinite-Na

Paratsepinite-Na is an IMA-recognized mineral species in the silicate class, with the chemical formula (Na,Sr,K,Ca)₂(Ti,Nb)₂(Si₄O₁₂)(O,OH)₂·4H₂O.

It crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system (space group C2/m). It is a member of the Labuntsovite structural group.

Key properties: specific gravity 2.76; Vitreous luster; optically biaxial.

IMA symbol Ptse-Na, IMA status: approved, named in 2003.

Found in cavities in peralkaline pegmatite.

It is found associated with Analcime, natrolite, tsepinite-Na, catapleiite, apophyllite, fluorite, epididyrnite, sphalerite.

The suffix, Na, indicates the sodium-dominant analogue of paratsepinite-Ba.
