Perettiite-(Y)
Perettiite-(Y) is a complex silicate–borate mineral with the formula Y2Mn4FeSi2B8O24. It was first discovered in 2015 by Adolf Peretti of the Gemresearch Swisslab (GRS). It was found as inclusions in a phenakite crystal from Mogok, Myanmar. Perettiite-(Y) was approved for IMA (International Mineralogical Association) status in 2015.

Perettiite-(Y) is an IMA-recognized mineral species in the silicate class, with the chemical formula Y₂Mn²⁺₄Fe²⁺Si₂B₈O₂₄.
It crystallizes in the orthorhombic crystal system (space group Pmna). It is a member of the Perettiite structural group.
Key properties: Mohs hardness 7; specific gravity 4.533; Colorless streak; Vitreous luster; optically biaxial.
IMA symbol Ptt-Y, IMA status: approved, named in 2014.
Occurs as inclusions in gemmy phenakite crystals from pockets in granitic pegmatite.
It is found associated with Schorl, tusionite, columbite-(Mn), albite, fluorapatite, lazulite.
The mineral was named to honor mineralogist and gemologist Adolf Peretti (b. 1957), mineralogist and Head of GRS GemResearch Swisslab AG, Switzerland, who first recognized inclusions in phenakite.
