Phosphoinnelite

Phosphoinnelite is an IMA-recognized mineral species in the silicate class, with the chemical formula Na₃Ba₄Ti₃Si₄O₁₄(PO₄)₂O₂F.

It crystallizes in the triclinic crystal system. It is a member of the Seidozerite-Lamprophyllite structural group.

Key properties: Mohs hardness 4.5–5; specific gravity 3.82; Pale yellow streak; Vitreous, greasy on broken surfaces luster; optically biaxial.

IMA symbol Pinn, IMA status: approved, named in 2005.

A late stage mineral in a hydrothermally altered peralkaline pegmatite that crosscuts calcite carbonatite in association with an ultramafic alkaline pluton.

It is found associated with Thompsonite-Ca, golyshevite, pectolite, cancrinite, pyroxene, CO3-bearing fluorapatite.

The name refers to its chemical composition as the P-analog of innelite.
