Titanowodginite is an IMA-recognized mineral species in the oxides & hydroxide class, with the chemical formula Mn²⁺TiTa₂O₈.
It crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system. It is a member of the Wodginite structural group.
Key properties: Mohs hardness 5.5; specific gravity 6.86; Dark brown streak; Vitreous luster; optically biaxial.
IMA symbol Twdg, IMA status: approved, named in 1984.
Found in a complex zoned granite pegmatite (Tanco pegmatite, Canada).
It is found associated with Microlite, manganocolumbite, albite, quartz, muscovite, beryl (Tanco pegmatite, Canada).
The name refers to predominant TITANium and its relation to wodginite.
