Calcioburbankite

Calcioburbankite is an IMA-recognized mineral species in the carbonate class, with the chemical formula Na₃(Ca,Ce,Sr,La)₃(CO₃)₅.

It crystallizes in the hexagonal crystal system (space group P2_1). It is a member of the Burbankite structural group.

Key properties: Mohs hardness 3–4; specific gravity 3.45; White streak; Vitreous, silky luster; optically uniaxial.

IMA symbol Cbbn, IMA status: approved, named in 1993.

A rare late stage mineral in association with an intrusive alkalic gabbro-syenite complex (Mont Saint-Hilaire).

It is found associated with Ancylite-(Ce), calcite, donnayite-(Y), fluorapatite, natrolite, pyrite, rhodochrosite, rutile, “chlorite” (vent or altered pegmatite); aegirine, calcite.
