Ceruleite

Ceruleite is an IMA-recognized mineral species in the arsenate class, with the chemical formula CuAl₄(AsO₄)₂(OH)₈(H₂O)₄.

It crystallizes in the triclinic crystal system.

IMA symbol Cru, IMA status: approved, named in 1900.

Found in the oxidized zone of arsenic-rich polymetallic mineral deposits; a post-mine product.

It is found associated with Alumopharmacosiderite, olivenite, schlossmacherite, mansfieldite, quartz (Emma Louisa mine, Chile); mansfieldite, quartz, barite, goethite (Bolivia).
