Jaskólskiite
Jaskólskiite is an IMA-recognized mineral species in the sulfosalt class, with the chemical formula CuₓPb₂₊ₓ(Sb,Bi)₂₋ₓS₅ (x ≈ 0.15).
It crystallizes in the orthorhombic crystal system (space group Pbnm). It is a member of the Meneghinite structural group.
Key properties: Mohs hardness 4; Dark gray streak; Metallic luster.
IMA symbol Jks, IMA status: approved, named in 1982.
Found in aggregates of sulfosalts and sulfides in polymetallic hydrothermal veins.
It is found associated with Galena, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite, cobaltite, pyrite, sphalerite, bismuth, antimony, cubanite, freibergite, izoklakeite, gudmundite, gersdorffite.
The mineral was named to honor Professor Stanislaw Jaskólski (1896–1981), Polish mineralogist, Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza, Kraków, Poland.
