Swedenborgite

Swedenborgite is an IMA-recognized mineral species in the oxides & hydroxide class, with the chemical formula NaBe₄Sb⁵⁺O₇.

It crystallizes in the hexagonal crystal system (space group P6_3mc).

Key properties: Mohs hardness 8; specific gravity 4.285; optically uniaxial.

IMA symbol Swe, grandfathered status — known before the IMA’s founding, named in 1924.

Found in skarn from a metamorphosed Fe–Mn orebody.
