Kangjinlaite
Kangjinlaite is an IMA-recognized mineral species in the native element class, with the chemical formula Ti₁₁Si₁₀.
It crystallizes in the tetragonal crystal system (space group I4/mmm).
Key properties: specific gravity 4.538; Metallic luster.
IMA status: approved, named in 2021.
Found in podiform chromitite, perhaps by crystallization of a ternary Ti-Si-P melt during cooling.
It is found associated with Wenjiite, badengzhuite, zhiqinite, a K-bearing dmisteinbergite-like mineral, corundum. Distribution From the Cr-11 orebody, Luobusa ophiolite.
The name refers to the district in Tibet where the studied material was collected.
